Darren did a fantastic job a photography for our wedding. Even before the day of the wedding he helped us to think through what we wanted out of the event and made us feel comforted with his warm and energetic spirit.
Darren worked tirelessly throughout the entire day staying late in capturing wonderful photos. He was very good with crowd management, and even helped us deal with some loving but opinionated father’s to make sure that we got what we wanted. He went above and beyond, including driving us from our ceremony venue to the reception venue when the rest of our wedding party had already left and forgotten that they had taken our keys. Darren rolled with the punches and helped us appreciate that special moment, even stopping on our request at a supermarket to take some glamour shots as we picked up some much-needed water.
He took fantastic photos! He really brought out life and energy of everyone he interacted with and caught many beautiful candid moments. Working with Darren was perfect, and I would (and have!) highly recommend him! His manner is very relaxed, but he clearly has a lot of experience shooting weddings, events, and of course, art photos. He comes to the table with many ideas, and is open to yours as well.
He did an amazing job shooting our wedding – we got the photos a month later (as promised), and there were just so many really excellent photos! Including several really fun ones that made it seem like he must have been in multiple places at once.
I really appreciated that he got our “must have” shot list before the event, and checked in multiple times to make sure we got each shot (in a way that made me feel like he was 100% managing that list, and I didn’t have to think about it). Several people independently commented during the event about how professional and polite he was to work with.

Darren is a truly incredible photographer. Our wedding planner gave us great advice – to choose a photographer we felt comfortable with, because that will affect how we hold ourselves. Darren has a gentle, competent easy going manner that put us at ease immediately. And he seems genuinely to like photographing weddings, which is SO fantastic. He seemed really excited about our wedding day, and took it seriously.
Darren has taken the best photos that exist of me in the world. And will probably ever exist. For our engagement photo shoot, he was incredibly patient, took photos in a wide variety of settings and did a lovely set of our baby and our family – it was fun, and we really treasure them.
On the wedding day Darren and his team were calm, lovely, professional and unobtrusive. They managed to capture all the details we wanted captured without us noticing them doing anything at all. Looking at photos a month out, we really feel like we are re-living the day; he captures the joy, the beauty of the setting, connections with love ones, and all the rest. He also gave us the photos edited, which is fantastic- not only do the colors and lighting look perfect, but he must have taken out all the highly unflattering photos that are inevitable – not a hideous expression on anyone in the bunch! Everyone looks beautiful! All the time. Just like in real life.

Darren is really an amazing photographer that I’m confident to recommend for your life time events to be photographed. I saw him for the first time at one of my friends’s wedding a few years back and immediately I found that he was different from the ordinary wedding photographers. He was super energetic and enthusiastic about getting great vibes and smiles out of everyone’s hearts. And when I saw the stunning and beautiful pictures that captured all the joy we had I decided that I was going to ask him for any of my life time events. Then our wedding came in last August. It was at this beautiful vineyard country house, and it had this combination of American and Japanese friends and family. And he did it again, he came in with amazing energy and touched everyone to pull out their deep and positive emotions on their faces.
Two highlights:
A series of shots of everyone shouting our family name to the sky while Darren was photographing the enormous happy energy from the roof of the house. Two families were together shoulder to shoulder and surrounded by all the friends. We have no idea how that happened, but what a great moment and shot.
He brought these fun and funky costumes at the dance time. Well, he definitely knew how to make party so fun and exciting. By the time I realized everyone is on costume including my parents from Japan! and everyone was dancing together, doing some funky moves, and laughing so hard. That was the best dancing party I’ve ever had. And all of these were captured by Darren at the same time of course.
I think his unique talent is, he can work with any type of people and at any location and can be your best friend right away, which makes it a lot easier than having a feeling of ‘professional photographer taking pictures’, yet his enthusiasm towards to creating a loving and fun environment and his professionalism towards to finding the great moments to capture as well as the quality of the photos are not doubt over the top. ~Leah + Kan

We so enjoyed having Darren photograph our wedding! Not only did we get an endless number of fantastic photos that we will forever cherish, we simply enjoyed his presence on our day. It takes a special person to blend in so perfectly to a wedding event….energetic, upbeat, and great at getting people to smile and respond, but also so stealth and unobtrusive in such an intimate atmosphere where everyone is just enjoying the day and the experience.
We met prior to the wedding to discuss our style, what we were looking for, and we provided samples of photos we liked, etc. He completely nailed it. Great photojournalist-style shots as well as some more classic posed family shots that we had requested.
When we were planning out wedding I was hesitant to spend money on a photographer and thought the spiel about the photos being all that you have at the end of the day was just a sales pitch. If you can forget about everyone else 5 minutes ago, even better. Darren is pretty much the greatest ever. Now granted I’ve only been the person getting married once, but I’ve been in a number of weddings and experienced a wide range of photographers, and none of them – and I am not being figurative here – absolutely none of them hold a candle to Darren and Robin.
What can you expect? My wife and I were married in Spring 2013 and introduced to Darren Miller Photography through a friend who had also used Darren as a photographer for their wedding – whose photos we loved! From the initial introduction & throughout the entire wedding process, Darren was professional, prompt in his communications, flexible and receptive to suggestions and requests that we made based on our preferences and budget. It was important for him to get to know us as a couple and understand our backgrounds. With this important attention to “our story,” it allowed him to better capture the wedding day and share images with us that we will cherish forever. He is extremely reasonable in terms of a price point and for the quality of work and stress-free environment he creates when working with him; you get more than your money’s worth.

We have a company that works with lots of photographers but choosing one for our wedding was easy. We chose Darren Miller because he is simply the best. He has a ton of energy and experience and honors your vision while gently suggesting things that might improve the ambiance or shot. He came up with a few ideas on the spot that changed our whole ceremony/celebration for the better. My family and friends all loved him and felt comfortable with him. He is tireless when it comes to the big day. He scouted the property prior to the event and was with us all morning, day and late into the night. He even set up a photobooth on the dance floor so that people could be photographed and not need to leave the dance floor. We have some epic playful shots. One of his best ideas was to do a group shot right after the wedding and it took less than three minutes because he had i all planned out and ready to go.
